A draft strategy for sustainable development until 2040 has been submitted for discussion in Minsk Region. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

A draft strategy for sustainable development of the Minsk Region until 2040 has been developed within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Supporting the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of Sustainable Development Goals” with the assistance of the Research Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Economy.

A strategy for sustainable development of the region is a document that systematically sets out the goals, priorities and directions of socio-economic development of the region for the future, taking into account the principles of sustainable development, including a justification for solving specific regional problems and a list of measures to achieve the goals.

As noted in the draft, the strategic goal of the long-term development of the Minsk Region is to increase the well-being and quality of life of the population based on achieving high sustainability of the regional economy, taking into account the environmental component.

The draft sustainable development strategy is posted on the website of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, which invites you to take part in the discussion of the document. Comments and suggestions can be sent to the Economics Committee up to and including April 4, 2025.
