In anticipation of the campaign “Give the forest a new life!” foresters of Minsk Region have prepared more than 2.8 million tree seedlings. This was reported by the State Forestry and Agricultural Organization of Minsk Region, BELTA reports.

On March 21, the voluntary public campaign “Give the forest a new life!” to restore the country’s forests will start. Foresters of Minsk Region have already prepared more than 2.8 million units of planting material grown in forestry nurseries. These are mainly pines, firs, birches, oaks and larches.

During the spring campaign in Minsk Region, it is planned to create more than 550 hectares of new forest crops. The largest volumes of forest planting are planned on the territory of the Kopyl experimental forestry enterprise — more than 45 hectares, Logoisk — more than 42 hectares, Berezinsky and Pukhovichsky forestry enterprises — more than 44 hectares, Uzda forestry enterprise — 38 hectares, as well as in the Smolevichi and Vileika experimental forestry enterprises — about 35 hectares.

Anyone can join the forest planting campaign.

“To become a volunteer, you just need to contact the forestry enterprises or forestry departments and declare your desire to help. Moreover, you can work both as part of your team and by going to the site with your family, including children,” the State Forestry Enterprise noted.

They also reported that almost 8 thousand volunteers took part in the autumn forest restoration campaign in the Minsk region.
